God Became a Violinist This Weekend

This past weekend, I went with my mom to her fancy work gala. Part of the entertainment was a high school symphony, and they played all sorts of beautiful songs including Christmas songs.

They would glide around the large room walking between tables carrying their instruments and blessing us with their talent.

At a certain point, the conductor announced that the next song was going to be a solo. So, an unassuming and humble looking girl started playing and walking around the room completely by herself. No other music, no other walkers.

Of all the people in the room for that event, this girl came and knelt directly in front of my mother and looked her straight in the eye for the rest of the song.

It was like she knew she was delivering a message from God.

My mom and I both knew it was God speaking through this girl. I cried so hard, I had to leave the soloist and go the restroom. My mom did a little bit better holding it together.

It may have been set up to where the violinist would stop at a certain chair at some point during her solo, or maybe even that specific chair, but we were placed there for a reason, even though we almost switched tables shortly after arriving.

My mom got serenaded two other times that night (as did other people), but the third musician who knelt in front her gave her the kindest hug after the song ended. My mom was in tears.

It was a beautiful and unexpected weekend. And I’m so thankful she took me as her date, so that, again, I could have another front row seat into what God’s doing in her life.

God’s ways are powerful; they hit the heart so beautifully you can’t explain it – other than to say, “That was God.”

I told my mom I may not get to see her in heaven. She asked me why. I said because she’s going to be in the Upper Echelon of the Elite.

Yeah. She’s that obedient.

Pray and obey,
Venus Monique
