If you have an entrepreneurial mind, I'm sure you've entertained loads of thoughts and ideas - all of which you could make a reality at some point in time.
The beauty of our brain is its limitless creative potential, but if we don't get specific and go deep on one thing, we can be overwhelmed by going broad on many things.
Not only have I said no to other business ideas, I've said no to opportunities that could be great within my own business.
I closed the doors on a membership that was great but wasn't serving me or my clients at the highest level. Instead, I merged it into one big membership and it's been amazing. But I had to let go and say no to the one in order for this to happen.
With this current membership, I could have a lot more members if I allowed anyone and everyone to join (I've had tons of requests from many folks, guys included, who want to be involved in a community where other Christian actors are growing their careers) - but I don't.
I have everyone fill out a questionnaire first. An application of sorts.
Why not skip the application and let everyone in? It'd be a lot easier and more lucrative if I did, but I stay in my lane, making sure we grow consistently instead of like a rocket ship.
There are benefits to caring about who joins us:
The byproduct is that I know that whoever comes into the membership is passionate about what we do, otherwise they wouldn't have taken the time to complete the questionnaire.
Saying no isn't always about saying no to other people.
Sometimes, it's about saying no to yourself.
Pray and push,
Venus Monique
