Even the Small Things Matter to God

A little more of God’s amazingness…

In August of 2016, our acting class had our first talent showcase. We’d been working for months on our scenes and were going to perform them in front of casting directors, directors, talent agents, and other industry professionals. As a little gift, I wanted to get everyone little silicone wrist bands that said “you are enough”.

That’s something our acting coach, Carol Hickey, never let us forget – that we are enough just as we are. It’s a statement that’s made a huge difference in the lives of many of her students.

So I ordered these bands and they were set to arrive September 5. September 5! The showcase was going to be on August 26.

Their delivery date was 11 days after the showcase.

I was suuuuper bummed when I saw that. Instead of canceling the order or getting upset, I took it straight to God. I was throwing that prayer up HIGH. Eleven days is a huge change in delivery dates, but I prayed, believed, and thanked Him in advance for making it happen.

The Friday morning of the showcase, I went to my mailbox – and guess what was in there.

YES! Those wristbands. And a maybe a little shriek of joy. I mean – eleven days sooner! It’s not that I thought God couldn’t make it happen; I just didn’t know if He would. And He did.

So I wanted to brag on His utter awesomeness. He even cares about the small things.

It all matters to Him.

If you decide that you want God in your life, here's a simple prayer you can say quietly or out loud:

Dear God, I'm a sinner. I’m sorry for my sin; please forgive me.

I believe Jesus Christ is Your Son and that He died for my sins and You raised Him to life.

I want to invite Him into my heart to take control of my life.

In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

(No pressure, but if you do say this prayer, I'd love to know so you're not stuck with the thought of, "Okaaaaay, what now?")
