What Connects Vindication and Unplanned?

The newest Pure Flix film, Unplanned, came out over the weekend – and it’s doubled their expected outcome. They’ve had some marketing set-backs and social media hurdles, yet they’ve still prevailed – #BecauseGod.

The creators of Unplanned, Chuck Konzelman and Cary Solomon, were prompted by God to make this film, so you can bet God’s gonna see it through. It got an A+ CinemaScore rating which only happens to like 2 films per year.

I feel a little closer to this film even though I didn’t work on it…

Four of the characters from Unplanned, including the lead (Ashley Bratcher), are also involved in our crime drama series, Vindication. In fact, they were filming Unplanned at the same time we were filming Vindication.

I remember one day, specifically, Todd Terry (who plays the doctor in Unplanned and the lead role in Vindication) had to leave our Vindication scene early so he could catch a flight to film Unplanned. I took over his dialogue so we could finish the scene, but it’s so fun to see the results of that day.

When Vindication is released to the public, here are the faces you’ll recognize (IMDb links attached to name):

It’s so fun to see how tight-knit the Christian film industry is. I absolutely love it, and I love that I got to know these people personally so that supporting Unplanned wasn’t just about supporting a Christian film, but also about supporting friends.
