May 14, 2018 is when I woke up from this dream.

God had pulled me up into the sky and I knew earth was below me. The sky was bright blue. It was empty. And it was amazing. I was doing flips. I was smiling, floating, and turning. I had a deep well of joy inside of me. Just being in the moment.

To be honest, I didn’t get my strong faith from reading my bible.. or from sitting in church.. or from community groups.

My faith became strong because of someone else’s faith: my mom’s.

This was an interesting day. I was hired as Jennifer Garner’s stand-in on a movie filming in Austin.

A stand-in is similar to a double except you don’t have any screen time. Stand-ins watch the main actors rehearse the scene, and when the main actors go to hair / make-up / wardrobe, the stand-ins stand in all the places the actors were so that cameras, lighting, sound, etc. can be set up and ready to shoot when the actors come back.

The woman casting this project was a casting director I hadn’t auditioned for in a while – around a year or more. She does casting for a lot of the tv shows and films around Austin, so I wanted to make sure I’d be brought back in for future gigs.

When I was a kid, I would think of other kids and where they lived, the parents they had, the house in which they lived, and the problems they faced. I’ve always been grateful for my life; maybe it’s because I’ve had that perspective.

Why am I not in India or in the 1700s?
