The Things We Don't See

Heeeeey – we moved again. We were in west Texas for a solid 7 months.

The plan was for both of us to get into the oilfield for a couple of years, but it didn’t work that way and I’m not sure why.

I know God has His plans, and I definitely feel like we were being called out there, but nothing major seems to have changed – at least not that I can see.

Currently, we’re living in a great little place on the outskirts of Austin and San Antonio, and it’s...

I Didn't Want to be a Christian

From what I’d seen, being a Christian looked like a restricting life.

When I first got saved, I was maybe in 7th grade and I gave my life to Jesus at a First Baptist Church. It was a sincere move from my heart, but I didn’t actually start living like a Christian until later because it didn't look enticing at all.

So, what caused the change?

Moving to a new town.

When I was a junior in high school, I moved to a new town with my mom. We started going to a...

Ford Commercial Surprise

Sometimes God sends a message through other people like He did through that pastor and then through this lady.

I was visiting my mom in San Angelo, TX, and we decided to visit a Pentecostal church. At the end of the service, they asked people to go to the front for prayer, but I felt fine about staying where I was.

Then, a woman came over to us. I thought she was just going to say hi and introduce herself, but after saying hi, she said she had a word for me. She started...

Why THIS Body?

When I was a kid, I would think of other kids and where they lived, the parents they had, the house in which they lived, and the problems they faced. I’ve always been grateful for my life; maybe it’s because I’ve had that perspective.

I’ve often thought why did my soul arrive in this body?

in this country?

in this state?

in this town?

Why am I not in India or in the 1700s?

My soul could have been placed in any body at any...

Even the Small Things Matter to God

A little more of God’s amazingness…

In August of 2016, our acting class had our first talent showcase. We’d been working for months on our scenes and were going to perform them in front of casting directors, directors, talent agents, and other industry professionals. As a little gift, I wanted to get everyone little silicone wrist bands that said “you are enough”.

That’s something our acting coach, Carol Hickey, never let us forget – that we are...

How to Save Money on Rent

I'm currently living with others, and there's a lot to consider if you have roommates. Having roommates is great, especially if you don't want to pay all of the rent yourself.

To be a roommate that people want to keep around, here are some things to do.

10. Put a towel on the counter in the mornings.

Since everyone is still asleep, I try to be quiet and considerate, so I put a towel on the bathroom counter and dump my make-up onto it. When I’m making coffee, I put my mug, sugar,...

God Makes Me Feel Like a Cow

Sometimes I feel like God is herding me like a cow.. or a sheep. Either one. I’ll explain.

If you’ve never heard the analogy of God being like a GPS, let me fill you in.

When we’re traveling somewhere specific, we like to know the full route before we get going, right? I know I do. I want to see different roads I could take and how long each trip will be. Understandable.

But God – He doesn’t let you see the full road before you, He...

How I Got on the Crime Drama Series, Vindication

We’re here. As of 26 days ago, everything’s in storage and we’re figuring out where our jobs are going to be before we jump into a lease or a house.

A couple of things have already happened that make me think I’m not fully done with acting for this season of life.

I decided to use a staffing agency to help me get a job here, and for whatever reason (I think we know the reason), I chose to go to this staffing agency, on this day, at this...

We're Leaving the Film Industry

It’s happening. We’re making the next move which is leading us out of Austin, but we’re not following the film world. We’re taking this time to move out of the industry and into careers that are hopefully more consistent and allow time for self.

I knew if I got out of acting that it would have to be God’s doing – so that there would be no jealousy or resentment. Thankfully, I do have peace about getting out of it, or putting it on...

Why Did I Choose Acting?

When I doubt whether or not acting is what God has for my life, I always go back to what God spoke to me through a pastor…

Out of nowhere, during my last year of college, I was walking on campus and this thought hit me – I want to do acting! Why am I getting my degree in Kinesiology?

That wouldn't have been so crazy if I actually wanted to act, but I didn't. Acting was nowhere on my radar.

I had already tried acting in high school – not One Act...
