Faith-Based Projects Currently in Texas

For years, I’ve been with an acting agency. All that time, I’d hoped and looked for faith-based projects that were going on, even though they were few and far between.

It seems more have been popping up recently, which is amazing.

However, if you’ve read my recent blog posts, you’d see that it feels like God has put my acting endeavors on pause – except for this one series I’ve been doing called Vindication.

What’s my point?

How to Sort Your Mail Quickly and Easily

I helped someone go through their mountain of incoming mail each day.

Here are some helpful things to do if you have lots of mail (or even if you don’t) coming to your house each day.

It’ll likely take you 2-3 minutes to sort it… maybe not 2-3 minutes to fully read each piece, but you’ll at least be able to sort the junk from the important pieces.

Here's the video and the steps:

First, separate your mail into 3 piles (don’t...

Have Your Parents Crushed Your Heart?

The other day, I was brainstorming and thinking of all the things my parents had said to me when I was younger that broke my spirit, made me feel less than, killed my confidence, or wounded me so bad that I never forgot them.

Parenting had been on my mind at the time, and I was thinking of why I turned out like I did. I often think of the way my parents raised me and how I want to raise my kids.

After really thinking back to the times I got in trouble, the times I tried...

How I Stay in a Good Mood

We all get upset or mad sometimes, right? I’m one of those people who gets mad about being mad, because it’s not a state of mind in which I like to be or stay. I’ve realized I always do this one thing when I get angry…

I use to go running. That hasn’t been my go-to lately – maybe because of where I live or simply because I’ve found something else.

What I definitely do every single time is distract myself. I purposely put something else...

How Our Ego Impacts Relationships

Have you ever found yourself wanting to know when someone’s gonna FaceTime you? Or wanting to know when someone’s gonna stop by your place?

I’ve felt that way many times, but recently I’ve been thinking why. Why do I want to know? I’d love the call or the company so do I really need to know beforehand?

I realized it’s not me that wants to know, it’s my ego.

My ego wants to make sure my hair isn’t crazy, my ego...

Advice to My Younger Self

A couple of things I’d impart to my younger self:

Always hold onto that feeling of being made fun of. You know why. Once you know how it feels to be made fun of, you don’t want to make anyone else feel that way. So, hold your tongue when you think you’re about to ‘make a joke’ about someone else. To them, it may hurt their heart more than you’ll ever know.

Travel. As soon as you can, travel. You can go after high school. You can go after...

How to Get Comfortable with the Gym

When I walk into a gym, the thought that often crosses my mind is, “Man, if I wasn't familiar with gyms, this could all be really intimidating."

And I bet, for tons of people who didn’t grow up working out, it is.

If I’d never been to a gym before, these are the things I’d want someone to tell me.

You absolutely do not have to look cute or trendy. Who cares if your outfit matches? Your main focus should be can I...

Pros and Cons of Working from Home

I’ve been working from home for the past few months. Before that, I solely did acting, which was a lot of work-from-home stuff along with occasionally going places for class, auditions, shoots, etc.

When my husband and I moved to where we are now (outside of Austin and San Antonio, Texas), I knew that anywhere we wanted to go would be a bit of a drive… nothing major but we used to live in Austin where everything we needed was within a 3 mile radius.

I set out to look for WFH...

We Think Our Troubles are Big

We all have struggles. They may seem minute to others, but to us, they’re still our struggles and our heavy burdens.

My sister-in-law and I were talking yesterday and she said something that I thought was really great…

When we’re kids, we think our problems are a huge deal, and they are to us, at that time.

As parents looking at the child’s problem, we see how not big it is, how small it actually is, and we think it’s funny that this kid thinks they have...

God's Ways are Like the Radio

God always knows what’s best for us. Always.

Being human, we often think that we know what’s best for ourselves, or what our next step should be, or our next goal. Sometimes, I feel like we hold onto things a little too long thinking that we have no better choice.

Or we hold out for a prayer that we really, really want.

I do that sometimes, too. And then I take a road trip.

While on these trips, I sometimes find a radio station I like. The further I travel, the more...
