Piggy backing on last weekās post, hereās a new thought about my current situation.
Ā
On the set of Vindication last weekend, something unexpected happened. Shance (one of the camera guys) asked me who my agent was. My response to that was pretty much what I wrote on last weekās blog:Ā Faith-Based Projects Currently in Texas.
Ā
When I mentioned that it seemed like prime time to have an agent, Shance said that the verse in Psalm doesnāt say God lets us lie down in green pastures; it says HeĀ ma...
For years, Iāve been with an acting agency. All that time, Iād hoped and looked for faith-based projects that were going on, even though they were few and far between.
Ā
It seems more have been popping up recently, which is amazing.
Ā
However, if youāve read my recent blog posts, youād see that it feels like God has put my acting endeavors on pause ā except for this one series Iāve been doing called Vindication.
Ā
Whatās my point?
Ā
For the first time in years, I donāt have an agent, and...
I helped someone go through their mountain of incoming mail each day.
Ā
Here are some helpful things to do if you have lots of mail (or even if you donāt) coming to your house each day.
Ā
Itāll likely take you 2-3 minutes to sort it⦠maybe not 2-3 minutes to fully read each piece, but youāll at least be able to sort the junk from the important pieces.
Ā
Here's the video and the steps:
Ā

First, separate your mail into 3 piles (donāt open anything yet):

The other day, I was brainstorming and thinking of all the things my parents had said to me when I was younger that broke my spirit, made me feel less than, killed my confidence, or wounded me so bad that I never forgot them.
Ā
Parenting had been on my mind at the time, and I was thinking of why I turned out like I did. I often think of the way my parents raised me and how I want to raise my kids.
Ā
After really thinking back to the times I got in trouble, the times I tried something and ...
We all get upset or mad sometimes, right? Iām one of those people who gets mad about being mad, because itās not a state of mind in which I like to be or stay. Iāve realized I always do this one thing when I get angryā¦
Ā
I use to go running. That hasnāt been my go-to lately ā maybe because of where I live or simply because Iāve found something else.
Ā
What I definitely do every single time is distract myself. I purposely put something else on my mind. Itās usually 1 of these 3 things:
Ā
Have you ever found yourself wanting to know when someoneās gonnaĀ FaceTime you? Or wanting to know when someoneās gonna stop by your place?
Ā
Iāve felt that way many times, but recently Iāve been thinkingĀ why. Why do I want to know? Iād love the call or the company so do I really need to know beforehand?
Ā
I realized itās not me that wants to know, itās my ego.
Ā
My ego wants to make sure my hair isnāt crazy, my ego wants to make sure I have on a little make-up, my ego wants my house to be...
A couple of things Iād impart to my younger self:
Ā
Always hold onto that feeling of being made fun of.Ā You know why. Once you know how it feels to be made fun of, you donāt want to make anyone else feel that way. So, hold your tongue when you think youāre about to āmake a jokeā about someone else. To them, it may hurt their heart more than youāll ever know.
Ā
Travel. As soon as you can, travel. You can go after high school. You can go after college. You can go for 2 months ā or 2 years. But...
When I walk into a gym, the thought that often crosses my mind is, āMan, if I wasn't familiar with gyms, this could all be really intimidating."
And I bet, for tons of people who didnāt grow up working out, it is.
If Iād never been to a gym before, these are the things Iād want someone to tell me.
Watch it here or keep reading:
You absolutely do not have to look cute or trendy. Who cares if your outfit matches? Your main focus should beĀ can I comfortably exercise in these clot...
Iāve been working from home for the past few months. Before that, I solely did acting, which was a lot of work-from-home stuff along with occasionally going places for class, auditions, shoots, etc.
When my husband and I moved to where we are now (outside of Austin and San Antonio, Texas), I knew that anywhere we wanted to go would be a bit of a drive⦠nothing major but we used to live in Austin where everything we needed was within a 3 mile radius.
I set out to look for WFH jobs and came acro...
We all have struggles. They may seem minute to others, but to us, theyāre still our struggles and our heavy burdens.
My sister-in-law and I were talking yesterday and she said something that I thought was really greatā¦
When weāre kids, we think our problems are a huge deal, and they are to us, at that time.
As parents looking at the childās problem, we see how not big it is, how small it actually is, and we think itās funny that this kid thinks they have āproblemsā, when clearly, their proble...
